Newton-Forsythe Genealogy:  Based on the story of 38 members of the Thomas Forsythe family, who migrated from heavily wooded Morgan County, Ohio, to the barren plains of Furnas County, Nebraska, from 1874-1891.  It is a history of the Newton family and other families from Massachusettes to Ohio to Nebraska.  It includes genealogy charts and history of many of the families.  The book is a story of the hardships of pioneering and furnishes first-hand information about the status of agriculture in a south central Nebraska community.  It also describes the mental attitude, the moral standards and the feelings of those early day pioneers.

Letters From Nebraska Sod House Pioneers:  Based on family letters from Furnas County, Nebraska, to Alice White of Stockport, Ohio.  38 members of the Forsythe and Newton families migrated from southeast Ohio to Furnas County, between 1877 and 1891.  They arrived just after the heyday of Indian fighting and buffalo hunting.  Alice White saved 1500 family letters, these letters draw a careful and graphic picture of one pioneer family's struggles in a strange and new country.  The letters will give the reader a better understanding of early-day Nebraska pioneer history.
